The Henley crew comprising of paddlers from Henley, BA, Bristol, Secklow and Wraysbury

A full race report will be able when the crew returns from Budapest, but until then, here are a few key highlights from our own race reporter:

Day 1, Friday 10th July - 2000m Competition

First race of the championships sees the 2000m.  Not the favourite of all teams, but with Henley enjoying the longer distance races, the crew were relishing the challenge.

Henley finished 12th (out of 18 crews) in a time of 00:08:55.95.

Day 2, Saturday 11th July - 200m Competition

Second day of the competition sees the 200m championships - a race distance similar to those raced in the British Dragon Boat Association League.

Just like the BDA League, crews compete in heats and reps to determine competitors in the head and tail races.

Henley finished 13th (out of 21 crews) in a time of 00:00:52.01.

Day 3, Sunday 12th July - 500m Competition

Third and final day of the competition sees the 500m championships.  Another race distance familiar to Henley and the other crews competing from the UK.

News just in from our race reporter confirms that Henley made it to the Plate Final of the 500m Premier Mixed competition, finishing in a time of 00:02:10.16, placing Henley in 12th position overall.

Well done Henley !
